Top 3 Strongest Demons (CP-as-loss framework)
Source: Theory | Confidence: Speculative | Category: Meta
Andras (#093) and Focalor (#069) hold #1 and #2. Gaap (#020) was removed from #3 — Unmoving Time is a 1-cycle stall, not meaningful lockdown. #3 slot is open pending further analysis.
Framework
With CP as a loss condition (lose at 15), the strongest demons:
-
Kill enemy demons efficiently (forcing opponent CP gain)
-
Stay alive / protect allies (preventing your own CP gain)
-
Don't self-corrupt (no "Gain CP" costs)
-
Have low VP (less risk if they die)
#1: Andras — Assassin (#093)
HP:12 | PWR:4 | VP:3 | Fast | Local
-
Passive: Quick actions cannot respond to Andras's actions (permanent, free)
-
Momento Mori (Quick, 1 AP, exhaust, 1x): Lock target, strip DEF (all damage becomes Fixed), next action ignores exhaust+ready
Why #1: In a game where killing = winning, Andras is the most efficient killer. Permanent counterplay denial means every attack lands without interference. Momento Mori enables guaranteed kills through any DEF value. Fast speed, no self-corruption, VP:3.
Exhaust economy: Momento Mori is 1x, but the passive pays dividends every single action for the rest of the game.
#2: Focalor — Wizard (#069)
HP:9 | PWR:5 | VP:3 | Slow | Any
-
The Great Blue Spot (4 AP, exhaust): Divide 3×PWR Fixed Damage among all demons in Target Lane
-
Focus (0 AP, ready, 1x): +5 PWR, -3 DEF. Extra action at end of Main Phase.
Why #2: Multi-kills are the fastest path to corrupting the opponent. Focus → Great Blue Spot = 30 Fixed Damage to a lane (10 per demon vs 3 targets). Can wipe an entire lane in one turn. Any range. No self-corruption. VP:3.
Exhaust economy: Focus is 1x but grants a bonus action. Even without Focus, 15 Fixed Damage per rest cycle is top-tier.
#3: OPEN
Rejected Candidates
-
Gaap (#020): Unmoving Time is a 1-cycle stall — 2 AP + exhaust to delay opponents who just act normally next cycle. No permanent value.
-
Nyx (#045): Fear of the Dark's "cannot be readied" is a Status — expires end of main phase. Same 1-phase stall problem as Gaap.
-
Shax (#021): Self-ready on kill sounds explosive, but PWR:4 can't reliably secure kills on its own (most demons have 9-15 HP). Chain-killing requires multiple enemies pre-chipped to ≤4 HP in the same lane — unrealistic setup. Win-more, not reliable strength.
Why Not Baal/Beleth?
Both have VP:6 and self-corrupting abilities. Baal's total CP exposure: 10 CP (4 from abilities + 6 from death). Beleth's is even worse with variable Scorched Earth/Endless War costs. Powerful effects, but the CP risk makes them glass cannons in a loss-at-15 system.
