Zagan — Fusion Repositioner
Source: Theory | Confidence: Speculative | Category: Positioning
Zagan's real value is as fusion material, not a standalone fighter. Its passive grants any fused demon free reactive repositioning to any lane on every paid action — both offensively (chasing targets, optimal lane for attacks) and defensively (dodging incoming). A Zagan-fused high-PWR demon becomes an omnipresent threat that can't be pinned down or avoided.
Core Insight
Zagan's 6/2/1 stat line is misleading. As a standalone unit, it appears to be the weakest demon in the game. But its passive — free reactive movement to any lane after any paid action is declared — transforms any demon it fuses with into an omnipresent threat.
Offensive Applications
-
Fused demon can chase fleeing/wounded enemies across lanes
-
Local-range demons effectively gain Any range through pre-positioning
-
Always in the optimal lane for ability targeting
-
Denies "safe" lanes — nowhere on the board is safe from a Zagan-fused attacker
Defensive Applications
-
Dodge incoming attacks by moving out of lane before resolution
-
Protect high-value demons from being pinned down and focused
-
No AP cost, no tap, no limit — triggers on every paid action
Best Fusion Targets
-
High-PWR demons (e.g. Belphegor at 15 PWR) become unkillable pursuers
-
Fragile but dangerous demons gain survivability without spending AP
-
Local-range demons gain effective Any range coverage
Key Takeaway
Abilities define demon power, not stats. Zagan's 6/2/1 body is the price of admission for one of the best fusion passives in the game.
